Friday, July 26 through Sunday, July 28 2013 – Meredith Town Docks
Hello Cutwater readers and members. I am Scott Robinson your new Meredith Boat Show Chair. For those of you who don’t know me, I was born in Cambridge, Mass. I spent a lot of time on Winnipesaukee since birth at Boulder Lodge. My folks moved from Topsfield Mass. To Wolfeboro in 1968. Linda and I have owned a home there since 1995. My past with boating includes both ocean and fresh water.
I am the current custodian of Comfy (shown above) which Don Minor sold me a couple of years ago. I am the past Southern CA ACBS President and Commodore of Classic Yacht Association.
I am in California. I am in the process of getting all the necessary forms completed to allow us in Meredith for the day. I have attended the show with a boat for a couple of years, so I am familiar with it. I implore you to volunteer with me so that we can have a FUN, wonderful show this year. Please feel free to email or call me with any suggestions you have. It’s amazing what folks can come up with. My email address is: email@example.com ; cell #: 562-619-4016.
With summer on its way we welcome you all to the 40th year for the NEC-ACBS Lake Winnipesaukee Antique and Classic Boat Show to be held at the Meredith, NH Public Docks. Hesky Park which is right next to the docks, itwill be our Field of Dreams site where you can buy or sell your boating treasure.
Our honored marquee this year is Lyman Boats so we invite and encourage all Lymans to be a part of this great show. We are having a special trophy made in honor of Lyman Boats and their contribution to pleasure boating. It will be awarded at our Sunday Awards Brunch to the lucky Lyman owner. So all you New England Lyman Group members spiff those Lymans for the show.
Last year for the first time we featured Antique and Classic Cars. Many beautiful cars were on display and enjoyed by the hundreds who attended the show. This was a tremendous success so we are repeating it again this year. They will be displayed in the parking lot in front of the docks
For the participants, Friday afternoon offers a Judging Clinic. This is an opportunity for participants to review the ACBS judging rules hosted by our chief Judge, Bo Muller. Any questions you may have can be answered then. Refer to the article on judging rules by Bo Muller on page 21 in this issue.
The Friday evening event is the official opening Cocktail Reception. A place to renew friendships, enjoy the live music. There you can feast on tasty hors d’oeuvres, and drinks from the cash bar. Participants may pick up their registration packets there also.
Saturday Boat Show. Docks and ramp are open from 7:00am thru 9:00am for participants to launch their boats and tie up. The Dockmaster & Crew will
assist you to locate your craft to the appropriate dock. Be sure to visit our sponsor’s booths, and our Ship’s Store.
The Grand finale is the Sunday Awards Brunch. It will be held at the Chase House in the Flagship Ballroom. There a sumptuous meal waits and with any luck an award.
Please register early to assist us in planning the event. Since this is our 40th year we expect many folks will want to come. Registration forms for all venues and events are on the following pages. Send a picture of your pride and joy along with your registration and it will appear in the boat show program if received before June 1.
Also please indicate if you are a new member to our chapter, we always to make you feel welcome.
Please be sure to volunteer to help with the show, its fun and you make great new friends!
See you in July,
