Thank you for visiting the website of the New England Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society.
As boaters we are always eager to hear the burbling exhaust and intoxicating smell of varnish that seems to permeate the interior hull. And we look forward to the weather magically turning to blue skies and calm water—just the right combination for us woody boaters
The New England Chapter plans several get togethers for our members to enjoy. Check the events section of the website for upcoming things to do.
Most recently we did something different for our spring romp and annual meeting by taking our activities on the water via the “Winni Bell” a small pedal wheeler. For two hours we cruised the south part of Winnipeasukee, enjoying a nice lunch and drinks. We also conducted our annual meeting requirement and, judging from comments since the event, all were quite pleased. We did it again this year.
For much of the year many of us work on the annual July Boat Show, held the last weekend in July at the Wolfeboro Town Docks – it was a unqualified success in 2016. Visitors and participants alike will find a nice array of restaurant choices and retail shops to browse. Friday is a busy day with out-of-town guests arriving. There will be a boat judging clinic in the afternoon and the day concludes with an evening registration/reception. Saturday after the show will be awards time. The awards banquet will be held at the WolfeTrap Restaurant Pavilion, on Bay Street, just up the street from the docks. Catered food, beer and wine, mingled with camaraderie to provide a good time for all – don’t miss it! Full details and registration can be found in the Cutwater magazine or on our website. Please observe the cutoff dates for registration for all events.
The Board has decided to go back to the biennial (on even years) September Boat and Car Rendezvous- this affords our volunteers some breathing room, as many of them help at the 4-day New Hampshire Boat Museum’s biennial Vintage Race Boat Regatta which precedes our show by a week. There will be registrations online at the end of 2017 for 2018.
Our yearly Fall Foliage Cruise and breakfast, is always a good time with usually a full house. Contact information will be available in the Cutwater and on the website.
Hope to see many of you in the coming year.
