Join us on a Group Run!

Special thanks to Cinetrek Media for the video

Format

We know dock space can be an issue in the summer, so some of these runs may begin and end at some chosen location on the lake, in some bay or cove. The runs will end where the Group Lead chooses, whether it involves docking, a meal or drink someplace, or just a wave-off and a “See ya next time!”

Date & Time

The date, time and location of the meetup will be chosen by the Group Lead and posted here to the site. Arrangements will be made with the Lead directly. A general route will also be posted, so if any other boaters want to wait at some point along the route and join up as the Run goes by they are encouraged to do so!

Photos & Video

We are planning on having a drone operator on board for some of these runs, so we can show off how much fun is to rally these boats around. Anyone who comes along is also encouraged to take their own photos or video and forward them to us for posting here on the website. Invite your drone-running friend along!

Stowaways!

Some of those on the run may opt to have others join them on their boat if there’s extra seating. If there are any seats available on a boat it will be noted in the posts below. Arrangements to get on the boat can be made with the boat owner directly. A good opportunity for anyone to get a wooden boat ride in!

Other Notes

Weather – “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry!” If the weather looks like it won’t cooperate on the day of the Run, the Lead will reach out to those attending and make plans to reschedule. Or they may choose to run anyway if they’re outfitted with a top, it will be at the discretion of the lead.

Day of the week – Some people prefer to only boat during the week to avoid the crowds, others are busy during the week and only available on the weekends to ride. If none of the planned runs fit your schedule consider planning your own run that does!

Pace of the run – There will be a general agreed upon pace to the run, for the sake of keeping the group together. Some runs will be leisurely, ambling cruises. Some may stop at agreed upon spots to take a break, regroup, snap some pics, maybe take a dip? Other runs may be a straight-shot, perhaps letting those horses stretch their legs a bit! All up to the Run Lead.

Route:

  • Depart at 10 am from Wolfeboro Town Docks – Arrive at Lees Mill around 11:30
  • Meetup option: Sandy Island at approximately 10:30 AM — a convenient central point for others joining from around the lake.
  • We’ll make our way to Lees Mill Landing, a roughly 90-minute ride from Wolfeboro.
  • En route, we’ll take one of two scenic passes:
  • Outbound: through The Hole in the Wall
  • Return: between Little Bear Island and Long Island
  • After lunch, we may cruise into Greens Basin if the group is interested

At Lees Mill

  • Docks should all be available for docking on Thursday mornings; we can likely dock up to five boats.
  • Facilities include a porta potty, chairs, and a bench (no picnic tables). We’ll bring one small camp table to help.

Lunch

  • Bring Your Own Picnic — we’ll enjoy lunch together by the water before heading back.
Notes
  • Expect light cruising speed, ideal for enjoying the scenery with the occasional speed cruise as the lake and conditions permit.

Fall Foliage Cruisers

Details

Dates: – TBA

Time – TBA

Meetup Location – Stonedam Island and Weirs Town Docks

Contact – Russell Lunt – russlunt@russlunt.com

Additional Info

From Russell: We have such a great time on our Fall Foliage runs that I want to post two of them this year. A lot of classic boat owners have given up on the summer by October, so I don’t expect many to join us, however, if you would like to come aboard for one, please check in with me ahead.

We leave the East side of Stonedam island around 3pm on Saturdays in October and often Sundays as well. I will take my time getting over to the Weirs to pick up guests around 3:45 with a departure time of 4pm. We will then motor over to Mark/Timber Island to start our cruise. We will cruise at a slow pace, perhaps 6 or 7 kts to take in the foliage. I typically go in between Mark and Mink, depending on the lake depth, then head up the West side of Bear Island, go around to the east side and head down to the broads. Heading back to the Weirs from the broads around dusk is a great time to catch the sunset.

We look forward to every cruise we do, and these especially, we hope we have some classic boats join us!

In addition, this year, we will attend the Wolfeboro Vintage Race Boat Regatta on September 12 and 13 with rides to benefit the New Hampshire Boat Museum. I also plan a cruise that Saturday evening leaving the Wolfeboro town docks around 4pm, weaving through the islands on the east side of Lake Winnipesaukee. Please contact me if you are interested in joining us.
