Beloved Artist
and Friend of the New England Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boating Society

With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Peter Ferber, a gifted artist, dedicated historian, and cherished member of the boating community. Peter’s work captured the spirit and beauty of New England’s classic wooden boats and lakefront scenes with extraordinary warmth and reverence. His paintings were more than images—they were windows into a timeless world of craftsmanship, tradition, and the enduring love of the water.

For decades, Peter shared his talents with the New England Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boating Society, becoming not just our go-to artist, but a treasured friend. His annual poster artwork for the annual boat show became an iconic part of the event—something we all looked forward to with great anticipation. Each piece reflected his deep knowledge of the boats, the people who loved them, and the special charm of Lake Winnipesaukee and its other surrounding lakes.

Peter’s art celebrated more than just boats—it celebrated moments, memories, and a way of life that resonated with so many. He was a humble, kind soul whose quiet presence and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

As we continue to gather on the water, surrounded by the boats we love, we carry Peter’s legacy with us—in every detail he so carefully preserved, in every scene he so lovingly painted. His work will live on as a tribute to the magic of classic boating and the man who saw its beauty so clearly.

Fair winds and calm waters, Peter. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
